SILVIS, Ill. — Presidents Cup crunch time is inching closer.

U.S. team hopefuls have until the Dell Technologies Championship concludes Sept. 4 to qualify for one of 12 roster spots, with 10 of those automatically given to the country’s top 10 golfers, according to FedEx Cup point totals.

Five of the current top 10 have never played in a Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup: Justin Thomas (3rd), Daniel Berger (4th), Kevin Kisner (5th), Kevin Chappell (9th) and Brian Harman (10th). Brendan Steele (14th) and Gary Woodland (20th) are on the fringe, too.
