Roger Federer advances at Wimbledon with straight sets win vs. Mischa Zverev

WIMBLEDON, England – Roger Federer posted an impressive 61 winners in his 7-6 (3), 6-4, 6-4 third round win over Mischa Zverev of Germany at Wimbledon on Saturday. 

The third-seeded Federer had history on his side as he’s only lost before the fourth-round twice – at Wimbledon 2013 and 2015 Australian Open – in his last 49 Grand Slam appearances.

Here at Wimbledon, Federer’s reached the fourth round on 15 occasions and has only lost before the quarterfinals once in his last 14 Wimbledon visits, which happened against Sergiy Stakhovsky of the Ukraine in the second round in 2013. 

“I thought it was a good match to play, a fun match to play against a serve-and-volley,” said Federer, of the encounter against Zverev. “I think we really fed off of each other so I’m very happy with that.
