Yeah, it’s only Lonzo Ball’s second game with the Los Angeles Lakers. And it’s “only” Summer League.
But we needed to be reminded just how good the No. 2 overall pick can be, and Ball provided that with an 11-point, 11-assist, 11-rebound triple-double on Saturday.
Here’s why a reminder was necessary: Because LaVar Ball continues to suck up all the air in the room post-NBA Draft. He’s out there making ridiculous appearances on WWE Raw. He’s feuding with Joel Embiid.
So maybe we all forgot the reason why we’re here with LaVar, and it’s that his son is going to be a scintillating NBA talent who has the chance to make the rest of the Lakers so much better with all the silky dimes he can unleash.
Here’s the full highlights package from his second game, after he had a rough debut in Las Vegas:
Besides his terrific passing, we got to see him hit a three, turn on the afterburners in transition and post up a shorter defender.
Again, it’s Summer League, but if Ball can do a lot of that every night, it looks like Ball is going to live up to what LaVar has been saying…
