President Trump confirmed on Twitter Friday that he will attend the U.S. Women’s Open, the major underway at his Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.

The USGA said of the planned Trump visit: “We welcome him. It is the first time a sitting president has attended the U.S. Women’s Open.”

Trump was in Paris on Friday for France’s Bastille Day celebration.
