London golfers, winter will not slow you down this year.
A new pub in London opening in 2016 has two 9-hole putt-putt courses built right inside it. Swingers is the name, and it opened as a temporary thing last year, but 90,000 visitors in a six-month timespan convinced the owners to keep it open permanently.
Also, it’s being built inside an abandoned WWII bunker.
From Golf Digest:
“Crazy golf (which is what putt-putt is called on that side of the pond) is part of British culture; there’s a lot of nostalgia attached to it because everyone remembers playing it as a child on holiday,” Grech-Smith said to the UK’s Evening Standard. “More than anything, though, I think people are craving different experiences from their nights out; especially if they can do those experiences with a drink in hand.”
The bar has three different cocktail bars, and the course looks nice. They have one of those putt-putt courses in a bar here in D.C., but it’s not in an abandoned WWII bunker, and what’s even the point then, you know?
Augusta National is a putt-putt course unlike any other
