Ex-Taft, OSU star Adolphus Washington arrested on weapons charge

Adolphus Washington, a former standout at Ohio State and a third-round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills, was arrested on a firearms charge Sunday outside a Sharonville waterpark Sunday, authorities said.

Washington, a second-year NFL player and a distinguished football and basketball player at Taft High School in Cincinnati, is accused of improperly carrying a concealed firearm near the Splash Park at 11320 Chester Road.

According to a Sharonville police report, Washington around 10 p.m. Sunday “reached for and displayed a gun while sitting inside his vehicle; just feet away from officers. The suspect did not inform officers beforehand.”

At the time of the arrest, police were clearing out a crowd from the park’s parking lot, the police report says.

Washington was released later Sunday night by police.
